For some people, driving is just a way to get from A to B. They aren’t bothered about what car they drive and they don’t take much pleasure from driving. But for others, there’s nothing they enjoy more than hitting the open road. Weekends are spent working on their car and taking long drives. If you’re one of those people you might wish that you could spend all day every day driving around instead of going to work. But why do you have to choose between the two, why not do both? There are plenty of great career options for people that love to drive, these are just some of the best ones.

Delivery Driver

The rise of internet shopping means that there are more parcels than ever that need delivering. Why not be the person to do that? You can spend your days driving around all sorts of different places. There are a few options for becoming a delivery driver that each has their own benefits. You could get a job driving an HGV for a company; you’ll be doing long haul trips across the country to make big deliveries. If you like long distance driving, this is the perfect job for you. You’ll need to take your test and get an HGV driving license and then find an HGV driving agency that can find you some work. It’s a great job for people that like long drives but it does mean working away from home a lot which doesn’t work for some people.

If you want a delivery job that is more flexible, you could look into working for a courier service. You’ll be doing a lot more local deliveries dropping off parcels that people have ordered online. Working for Amazon is ideal for flexibility because you can log into their app and take on work when you want it, but if you need time off, you’re not tied into to any specific hours.

Ambulance Driver

For some people, finding a meaningful job that gives you the chance to give something back is a priority. If you want to combine your love of driving with fulfilling work, being an ambulance driver is a possibility for you. You’ll need to train as a paramedic as well so there is another aspect to this job. That means it isn’t ideal for everybody and it’s incredibly stressful, but if you think you can handle it, it’s a very rewarding job.

Taxi Driver

Being a taxi driver is another great way to find flexible driving work. There is a lot of shift work involved and evenings and weekends are the busiest times so it’s not for everybody. But if you don’t mind working those shifts, it’s a great job. You could work for a taxi firm, you’ll just need a clean license and may need to complete a basic test to show that you know your way around the city. Alternatively, you could register as an Uber driver instead. You probably won’t earn as much but it’s easier to find work that way.

These are just 3 of the great career options for people that love to hit the open road and drive all day long.
