It’s very easy to paint those who regularly travel as those who simply cannot or will not settle down to do anything productive. To the narrow-minded, traveling from one place to another can seem somewhat unnecessary, or perhaps a waste of money. Sure, our own personal travel story might not be generating much in the way of value for corporations or it may mean we have to be a little more ingenious about the ways in which we earn a living, but that hardly means travellers are lazy or running from responsibility.
Quite the contrary, in fact. It takes plenty of effort to travel, to breathe in cultures, to learn from our experiences and to push our comfort zones. In fact, many work in place to place, or even study an accredited online MBA program through a worthwhile and prestigious open university. That last point is starting to grow in popularity for a wide variety of graduates or those hoping to refine their specialist skillset.
But how can you travel and study at the same time? Is this possible? We would suggest that it is, and wish to help you consider the following advice:
Consider A Range Of Online Programs
There are many online programs that could give you the opportunity to work on your own time, defining your own hours. There are many forms of course worth considering, but be sure they come from a verified institution with a real qualification for you to gain at the end. Armed with a somewhat stable internet connection and a device you can protect, you have the chance of studying a real masters no matter where you are.
Divide Your Time
Divide your time between traveling and studying. Perhaps you’ll focus four hours of your morning study each day and spend the rest of it enjoying time at the beach, or hiking, or working to fund your studies. Get into a routine. Make sure you contribute something every day, even if it’s only an hour or two at the weekend. Studying while traveling requires more discipline than those who may be stationary, but this can help you follow the old adage of ‘work hard, play hard’ well. You can get plenty out of that.
Find Adequate Places To Study
Finding an adequate place to study with regularity can help you avoid the distractions of your travel while also seeing part of the world you currently inhabit. For example, heading to the New York library may be a great means in which you can study and actually lay down some productive effort while still being absolutely absorbed the wonderful architectural beauty around you. Just because you need to focus on your studies doesn’t mean you have to completely ignore your surroundings – quite the contrary. You may even find local study groups to help you gain some of that vital one-on-one social discourse within a certain study path. Google and social media services are your friend.
With this advice, we hope you can both travel and study with careful consideration.
